Frequently Asked Questions

White Noise & Relaxation Machine

  • 33 sounds across five categories: relaxation and white noise (including the guided PMR scripts), nature sounds, ambient sounds, piano and lullabies, and binaural tracks. The full sound list is on the product page.

  • The machine includes a full Progressive Muscular Relaxation (PMR) programme — available in both a female voice (Heidi Mackin) and a male voice (Dr James Mackin, NHS GP). It guides you through a sequence from head to toe over 15–20 minutes, systematically releasing tension from each muscle group. It can be used at any time of day to de-stress, and at night it places your body and mind in the ideal state for deep, restorative sleep. The free ebook explains the clinical evidence behind the technique.

  • Yes. The sound menu includes a shushing sound, a heartbeat, and three lullabies — specifically included for infants and young children. The adjustable night light and environment monitor also make it well-suited to a nursery or child's bedroom.

  • No. It is a standalone device with no wireless connectivity required. All 33 sounds are built into the machine.

  • Via USB-C input. A USB-A to USB-C cable is supplied. You can power it from any standard USB source: a mains USB adapter (not supplied), a laptop or computer USB port, a car USB socket, or a portable powerbank (not supplied). No plug adapter is included in the box.

  • Up to 8–12 hours on a full charge — enough for a full night's sleep without being plugged in.

We recommend that, if intending to use the internal battery ‘off-grid’, it has been plugged for 24hrs beforehand to fully charge.

There is no special ‘charge’ setting; the internal processor handles charge management but if it is kept plugged in all the time the battery life will gradually degrade as they do with laptops and phones

  • Please charge for 24 hours before first use. This brings the internal lithium battery to full capacity. Battery life will be significantly reduced if this initial charge is skipped — this is the most common reason for early disappointment with battery performance, so please don't miss this step.

  • Yes. The machine charges via standard USB-C, so as long as you have a USB adapter for the local mains sockets (or a compatible powerbank), it will work anywhere.
